Sunday college basketball gives us the Monmouth Hawks battling the CS Fullerton Titans in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

The Cal State Fullerton Titans controlled the scoreboard against Wake Forest Friday but couldn’t put up enough points in a 66-59 defeat. Cal State Fullerton held a slight 37.5%-33.9% shooting edge but were outscored 20-10 at the line which was the deciding factor.

Khalil Ahmad kept the Titans in the game with a contest high 20 points and three yanks on 8-18 from the floor. Kyle Allman added eleven points, five boards and eight assists on 4-15 shooting while Davon Clare gave Cal State Fullerton ten points and nine rebounds.

The Monmouth Hawks have struggled to score in the early going and that trend continued in a 64-53 loss to Valparaiso that dropped the team to 0-4. The Crusaders sank half their looks but Monmouth could only respond at 39.6% which was the difference.

Mustaoha Traore was the Hawks only double digit scorer with 14 points and three pulls on 7-7 marksmanship. Deion Hammond tossed in eight points on 2-8 shooting while Monmouth received seven points on 2-7 from the field.

CS Fullerton are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games and under is 22-8 in CS Fullerton last 30 neutral site games and under is 36-15 in CS Fullerton last 51 overall. Monmouth are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and under is 5-1 in Monmouth last 6 overall and under is 5-1 in Monmouth last 6 non-conference games.

CS Fullerton -5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
