Monmouth Hawks -2
The Siena Saints and the Monmouth Hawks will match up in college basketball activity on Thursday.
Siena enters this matchup at 9-11 overall on the year. The Saints have won their last three straight games, taking out Niagara, Fairfield and Manhattan during that stretch.
In the win over the Jaspers, Siena’s only scorer in double-figures was Jalen Pickett, who led the team on 18 points, five rebounds and two assists. Manny Camper added seven points and seven rebounds for the Saints in that one.
Over on the Monmouth side, they’re 6-16 on the season. Following four straight wins over Manhattan, Siena, Fairfield and Iona, the Hawks have lost their last two versus Canisius and Niagara.
In the loss to the Eagles, Monmouth’s lone double-digit scorer was Deion Hammond, with 12 points, three rebounds and one assist. Mustapha Traore was close for the Hawks in that one with nine points and four rebounds.
The Saints are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Siena is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the MAA and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games versus a team with a losing road record. Monmouth is 4-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss.
Siena is on a pretty good run lately, and they’ve won four of their last five games. That said, the one loss they’ve had in that time came at home to Monmouth January 14 in a 63-60 affair.
This is probably going to be another low-scoring outing for both teams, as Siena has registered just 110 points across their last two games and Monmouth has logged just 114 in their last pair. The Hawks are probably better offensively at this point though, so I’m going with Monmouth.
