The Saint Peter’s Peacocks go on the road to face the Monmouth Hawks in MAAC college basketball action.
The Saint Peter’s Peacocks began their conference slate with a 65-60 victory against visiting Siena as a two point home dog on Thursday.
Saint Peter’s held a slight 52%-51% edge in marksmanship and maintained a six point halftime lead behind a 7-4 advantage at the stripe.
Davauhnte Turner carried the Peacocks offense with 21 points on 8-17 marksmanship while Samuel Idowu added 15 points and seven rebounds on 5-10 from the floor and 4-4 at the line.
Saint Peter’s received ten points and five boards from Quinn Taylor on 4-7 from the field followed by Manny Dixon with seven points on 3-3.
The Monmouth Hawks were rocked 103-84 at Iona Thursday in their MAAC opener. Monmouth didn’t have any answers with the Gaels holding a 58.5%-47.5% edge in marksmanship with 17 long balls.
Deion Hammond and Diago Quinn were the Hawks lone double digit scorers with 22 points and 20 points respectively. Monmouth received nine points from Samuel Chaput followed by George Papas with eight points.
Under is 36-14-1 in St. Peter’s last 51 road games and under is 12-5 in St. Peter’s last 17 Saturday games. Over is 8-3 in Monmouth last 11 Saturday games and Monmouth are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
