The Eastern Washington Eagles will travel to Brick Breeden Fieldhouse to take on the Montana State Bobcats this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The Eastern Washington Eagles won their 3rd straight game and improved to 8-13 (6-4 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 82-64, this past Monday night. Eastern Washington was outstanding on the offensive end against the Lumberjacks and pulled away after taking a 65-46 lead with 9:31 left in regulation. Eastern Washington shot 47.5% from the field and 92.3% from the FT-Line in the victory. Leading the way for the Eagles was Jacob Davison who had 41 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

On the season, Eastern Washington is averaging 70.4 ppg on 41.5% shooting from the field. The Eagles are averaging 9.2 three-pointers per game on 33.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Eastern Washington has been led by Mason Peatling (15.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 2.0 apg 1.1 spg), Jesse Hunt (14.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.2 apg), Jacob Davison (13.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg), and Tyler Kidd (8.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 2.8 apg).

Defensively, Eastern Washington is allowing their opponents to average 77.0 ppg on 46.6% shooting from the field. The Eagles have a rebound margin of -2.5 and a turnover margin of -0.1.

The Montana State Bobcats improved to 9-12 (6-5 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Northern Colorado Bears, 69-66, this past Monday night. Montana State was solid defensively against a very good Northern Colorado offense and was able to pull off the upset win after closing the final 2:08 of regulation on a 7-0 run. Montana State held Northern Colorado to just 42.1% from the field and 18.5% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Bobcats was Tyler Hall who had 23 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.

On the season, Montana State is averaging 76.8 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Bobcats are averaging 9.0 three-pointers per game on 35.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Montana State has been led by Tyler Hall (20.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 spg), Harald Frey (15.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.1 spg), Keljin Blevins (11.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg), and Ladan Ricketts (9.8 ppg, 2.1 rpg).

Defensively, Montana State is allowing their opponents to average 80.2 ppg on 48.6% shooting from the field. The Bobcats have a rebound margin of -0.2 and a turnover margin of -0.1.

Eastern Washington has won 5 of their last 6 games and although they rank just 254th in scoring offense, 306th in FG%, and 294th in scoring defense, the Eagles have been solid as of late as they topped 82+ points in 4 of their last 5 games.

Montana State has lost 4 of their last 6 games and although their offense has been solid, ranking 90th in scoring offense, the defense has really struggled as the Bobcats currently rank just 336th in scoring defense and 346th in defensive FG%.

Montana State just pulled off a great win against Northern Colorado and has one of the best players in the Big Sky in Tyler Hall, however, I just have a hard time trusting the Bobcats defense. Eastern Washington is playing some of their best basketball of the season as of late and as they already were able to defeat Montana State by an 85-81 margin at home this season, I think the Eagles and their offense do enough with the points to cover in this one. Good Luck!

Pick:
Eastern Washington Eagles +5
