Portland State Vikings (5-7) at Montana State Bobcats (4-8)
|Date & Time||Thursday January 3, 2019, 9:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Montana State Bobcats -2.5 -- Over/Under: 152.5
The Portland State Vikings and the Montana State Bobcats will match up in college basketball action on Thursday.
Portland State stumbles into this game at 5-7 on the season. The Vikings have dropped their last four straight games, falling to BYU, LMU, CSUB and Northern Colorado in that quartet.
In the Bears game, Portland State’s Derek Brown led the team on 16 points with two rebounds and one assist. The only other Viking in double-figures was Robert McCoy, with 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists there.
Over on the Montana State side, they’re 4-8 this year. The Bobcats are 3-2 over their last five games, taking out North Dakota, Washington State and Southern Utah while falling to Denver and Northern Arizona in that time.
In the Lumberjacks game, Montana State’s Harald Frey led the way on 26 points, five assists and two rebounds. Tyler Hall added 12 points and four boards for the Bobcats while Devin Kirby finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Vikings are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight Thursday games. Portland State is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine home games. Montana State is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the Big Sky and the over is 4-0 in their last four home games.
Since their schedule has turned to some of the tougher schools, Portland State hasn’t matched up well and it’s reflecting very poorly on their overall record. Montana State isn’t a great team (though they’re better than their record indicates), but they can put up points so I don’t see things letting up here either. I’m going Bobcats.
