The Idaho State Bengals and the Montana Grizzlies meet in college basketball action from Dahlberg Arena on Saturday.
Idaho State enters this one at 6-17 on the year. The Bengals are on a nine-game losing streak right now, dropping to Northern CO, Southern Utah, Northern AZ, Sac State and Montana State in that time.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Idaho State’s Malik Porter led the team on 14 points with five rebounds. Jared Stutzman added 12 points with four rebounds there, and Tarik Cool had 13 points with three rebounds.
Over on the Grizzlies’ side, they’re currently 15-10 this year. The Grizzlies are on a four-game winning streak right now, beating Montana State, Eastern WA, Idaho and Weber State in succession.
In the win over the Wildcats, Montana’s Sayeed Pridget led the team on 25 points with five rebounds and two assists. Kendal Manuel added 21 points, six rebounds and three assists in that one as well.
The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Montana is 4-0 ATS in the last four overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 after an ATS win. The over is 9-1 in the Bengals’ last 10 overall and 8-1 in the last nine after a straight-up loss.
Give Idaho State some credit. Despite this losing streak they’re still fighting, and each of their last five games has been decided by five points or fewer. No matter if it’s a high- or a low-scoring game, the Bengals hang around but can’t seem to close anything out.
Montana has been on a good scoring clip lately, and though they only beat the Bengals by three last time, I like another strong performance here. Gonna stick with the Grizzlies.
