The Southern Utah Thunderbirds and the Montana Grizzlies meet in Big Sky college basketball action from the Dahlberg Arena.

Oluyitan leads Southern Utah in scoring with 12.7 points per game while Butler leads the Thunderbirds in rebounding with 6.9 rebounds per game and Marin leads Southern Utah in assists with 2.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Southern Utah is averaging 76.8 points per game on 44.2% shooting from the field, 33.9% from behind the arc and 70.9% from the foul line this season.
The Montana Grizzlies will look to rebound after a 74-72 loss to Northern Colorado in their last outing. Ahmaad Rorie led the Grizzlies with 22 points on 7 of 12 shooting with 7 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists. Donaven Dorsey came 2nd with 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting with 6 threes and Sayeed Pridgett added 17 points with 4 assists, 3 steals and a pair of blocks to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Montana in the loss. Michael Oguine added 8 points with a team-high 10 rebounds and 4 steals as well in the losing effort. As a team, Montana is averaging 77.6 points per game on 49.2% shooting from the field, 38.5% from behind the arc and 68.2% from the foul line this season.
Southern Utah is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 13-6 in their last 19 conference games. Montana is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Southern Utah is 0-6 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
Southern Utah comes into this one fresh off of back-to-back wins so the points appear tempting. However, it would mean more if the wins hadn’t come against a team in the bottom half of the standings and the last place team in the Big Sky in their win over Idaho last time out. Montana bit me in the butt against Northern Colorado, but in all fairness those are the top two teams in the Big Sky at the end of the season. Southern Utah also has a history of not being able to hang around in this matchup, so I’ll lay the points with Montana in this spot.
