The Belmont Bruins will travel to the CFSB center to take on the Murray State Racers this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The Belmont Bruins improved to 13-4 (4-2 OVC) on the season after defeating the Tennessee State Tigers, 92-74, this past Saturday night. Belmont had no trouble on the offensive end against the Tennessee State defense and easily cruised to victory in the 2nd half after taking a 43-31 halftime lead. Belmont shot 63.5% from the field and 61.9% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Bruins was Dylan Windler who had 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

On the season, Belmont is averaging 86.3 ppg on 48.0% shooting from the field. The Bruins are averaging 10.1 three-pointers per game on 36.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Belmont has been led by Dylan Windler (18.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.6 spg), Nick Muszynski (15.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.5 bpg), Kevin McClain (14.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.4 spg), and Grayson Murphy (10.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 5.6 apg, 1.9 spg).

Defensively, Belmont is holding their opponents to an average of 66.0 ppg on 39.9% shooting from the field. The Bruins have a rebound margin of 4.4 and a turnover margin of 2.4.

The Murray State Racers won their 7th straight game and improved to 15-2 (6-0 OVC) on the season after defeating the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars, 82-72, this past Saturday. Murray State had their hands full with the Cougars in this one as the Racers led by just a 69-68 margin with 4:19 left in the 2nd half, however, Murray State was able to remain perfect in conference play after closing out the game on a 13-4 run. Murray State shot 54.3% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Racers was Ja Morant who had 40 points, 11 assists, 3 rebounds, and 5 steals.

On the season, Murray State is averaging 84.0 ppg on 50.6% shooting from the field. The Racers are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Murray State has been led by Ja Morant (24.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 10.6 apg, 1.8 spg), Shaq Buchanan (13.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.4 spg), Tevin Brown (12.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.3 spg), and Darnell Cowart (8.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg).

Defensively, Murray State is holding their opponents to an average of 66.0 ppg on 39.9% shooting from the field. The Racers have a rebound margin of 4.4 and a turnover margin of 2.4.

The Bruins are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Racers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games overall.

Belmont has won 4 of their last 5 games and comes into this game led by their offense which ranks 7th in scoring offense, 5th in assists per game, and T-18th in three-pointers made per game. Murray State continues to rack up wins and has been outstanding on both sides of the ball as they currently rank T-17th in scoring offense, 4th in FG%, and 49th in scoring defense.

This should be one of the more entertaining games to watch on Thursday night as both Belmont and Murray State are two of the better mid-major programs in all of College Basketball. Murray State has been outstanding as their only losses have been in competitive road games against Alabama & Auburn however, Belmont has been decent on the road this season and certainly has an offense that can keep up with Ja Morant and the Racers. I’m a big fan of this Murray State team as I think they’ll do some damage in the NCAA Tournament if they can make it, however, Belmont is a solid team that I think will be able to keep this on within the number in what should be a fast-paced, high-scoring game. Take Belmont and the points.

Pick:
Belmont Bruins +6
