Murray State Racers -19 O/U: 146
The Tennessee State Tigers will meet the Murray State Racers in college basketball action Saturday.
Tennessee State stumbles into this game at 5-14 on the season. Following a win over Tennessee Tech January 17, the Tigers have lost their last two to Belmont and Austin Peay.
In the loss to the Governors, Tennessee State’s Michael Littlejohn bagged 18 points to lead the team, and Armani Chaney had 17 points. Also in double-figures for the Tigers were Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey (14 points) and Thomas Davis (10 points).
Over on the Murray State side, they’re 15-3 this year. Murray State had a nice seven-game win streak going before their Thursday game against Belmont, but it was snapped in a 79-66 defeat.
In the loss to the Bruins, Murray State’s Temetrius Morant led the way on 20 points, nine assists and four rebounds. Darnell Coward doubled up for the Racers in that game with 14 points and 13 rebounds to his credit.
The Tigers are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 versus the OVC and the over is 4-0 in their last four road games. The over is 4-1 in Tennessee State’s last five overall and 4-1 in their last five versus the OVC.
Meanwhile, the Racers are 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games. Murray State is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 versus the OVC and 15-6 ATS in their last 21 overall.
This one is gauged to be a blowout for the Racers, but looking at Tennessee State’s points totals across their last three games (79, 74 and 74 respectively), I think the Tigers could get in closer than some people think here.
Murray State fumbled against Belmont (66 points), but they should be able to get back to business here. I see a double-digit win, but not quite as thick as the line indicates. I’m going Tennessee State in this one.
