The Line: Nebraska Cornhuskers -20.5 -- Over/Under: 139
The CSU-Fullerton Titans and the Nebraska Cornhuskers meet in college basketball action from Pinnacle Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The CSU-Fullerton Titans come into this game looking to snap a 3-game losing skid after a 68-54 loss to San Francisco in their last outing. Kyle Allman Jr. led the Titans with 14 points on 6 of 16 shooting with a pair of threes while Jackson Rowe added 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting from the floor as the only other Titan to score in double-digits in the losing effort. Jamal Smith added 6 points and a team-high 3 assists while Amel Kuljuhovic added 7 points and a team-high 7 rebounds in 14 minutes on the floor. Allman Jr. leads the Titans in scoring with 18.3 points per game while Rowe leads CSU-Fullerton on the glass with 6.7 rebounds per game and Austen Awosika leads the Titans in assists with 3.7 assists per game this season. As a team, CSU-Fullerton is averaging 74.5 points per game on 46.5% shooting from the field, 31.8% from behind the arc and 69.1% from the foul line this season.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 79-56 beatdown of Oklahoma State in their last outing. James Palmer Jr. led the Huskers with 29 points on 6 of 17 shooting with 3 triples and a 14 of 15 mark from the foul line along with a team-high 5 assists. Isaac Copeland Jr. added 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting while Thomas Allen added 14 points on 5 of 7 shooting with a pair of threes to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Nebraska in the win. Isaiah Roby added 5 points with team-highs of 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the winning effort as well for the Huskers. Palmer Jr. leads Nebraska in scoring with an average of 19.6 points per game while Copeland Jr. leads the Cornhuskers in rebounding with 6 rebounds per game and Glynn Watson Jr. leads Nebraska in assists with 3.5 assists per game this season. As a team, Nebraska is averaging 79.7 points per game on 48.1% shooting from the field, 36.1% from behind the arc and 74.1% from the foul line this season.
CSU-Fullerton is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 games following a loss. Nebraska is 26-6-1 ATS in their last 33 games overall and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 home games while the under is 20-7 in their last 27 non-conference games.
This seems like a lot of points to lay on the surface, however the Titans have had a lot of issues covering spreads this season both overall and on the road. Nebraska walloped Oklahoma State on a neutral floor and now return home where the Huskers are 5-0-1 ATS and have won all of their games by 15+ points with an average margin of victory of 37 points per game this season. A couple of those wins were cake walks against Mississippi Valley State and Southeastern Louisiana, but a 19-point win on their own floor over Creighton is still impressive so I’ll lay the points with Nebraska in this spot.
