Illinois Fighting Illini (2-5) at Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-1)
|Date & Time||Sunday December 2, 2018, 5:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Nebraska Cornhuskers -12 -- Over/Under: 145
The Illinois Fighting Illini and the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be meeting up in college basketball activity on Sunday.
Illinois enters this game with a 2-5 record overall. The Illini’s only wins came versus Evansville and MS Valley, and they’ve fallen to Georgetown, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Xavier and Notre Dame.
In the Irish game, Illinois’ top scorer was Aaron Jordan with 23 points, five rebounds and one assist. The only other Illini player in double-figures was Giorgi Bezhanishvili with 22 points, six rebounds and an assist.
Over on the Nebraska side, they’re sitting at 6-1 this year. Aside from a loss to Texas Tech, the Cornhuskers have dispatched MS Valley, SE LA, Seton Hall, Missouri State, Western Illinois and Clemson.
The Cornhuskers’ lead scorer versus the Tigers was James Palmer with 20 points and nine rebounds. Isaac Copeland also posted a nice line for Nebraska on 16 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Illinois is 5-2 ATS in their last seven Sunday games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 following a straight-up loss. The Illini are 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS win and the under is 3-1-1 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers are 15-3 ATS in their last 18 versus the Big Ten and 23-5-1 ATS in their last 29 overall. Nebraska is 17-5-1 ATS in their last 23 home games and 17-4 ATS in their last 21 following an ATS win.
Illinois seems headed for another lost season this year; it’s been a while since they’ve been legitimate contenders on the national stage--let alone the Big Ten. The Illini were competitive against Notre Dame however (76-74), so that’s something to build on I suppose.
Nebraska is simply on an entirely different level than Illinois right now, so I’m just going to take the Cornhuskers on the cover and not think too much about it.
