The Line: Nebraska Cornhuskers -1.5 -- Over/Under:
On Tuesday from Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Maryland Terrapins and the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
Maryland is sitting at 17-10 on the season so far. The Terrapins have won two of their last three games, and took out Northwestern on Saturday. In that victory, Maryland guard Kevin Huerter led the way on 22 points.
Anthony Cowan is the top scorer for Maryland this year with 16.2 PPG and 5.0 APG. Also in double-figures for the Terrapins is Kevin Hurter (14.8 PPG), and Bruno Fernando isn’t far off with 9.4 PPG.
As for Nebraska, they’re currently 19-8 this year. The Cornhuskers have won their last five straight games, and beat Rutgers on Saturday. In that Rutgers game, Nebraska’s James Palmer put up 15 points.
Palmer leads the Cornhuskers in scoring average this year with 17.6 PPG and 4.6 RPG. Also in double-figures for Nebraska are Isaac Copeland (13.0 PPG; 6.1 RPG) and Glynn Watson (11.0 PPG).
The Terrapins are 7-1 ATS in their last eight Tuesday games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall. Maryland is also 3-1-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten and the under is 7-1 in their last eight overall.
Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers are 5-0 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 12-1 ATS in their last 13 following an ATS win. Nebraska is also 12-1 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big Ten and 8-1 ATS in their last nine home games.
Maryland’s record doesn’t look too bad overall, but it’s worth noting that they’ve won just four games against seven losses since January 2. The Terrapins have seen some prime competition in that time, though, so take that record with a proverbial grain of salt. As for Nebraska, they’ve been drilling the Big Ten teams lately, winning seven of their last eight conference games. I like the Cornhuskers to keep it going here and cover.
