The New Mexico State Aggies take the hardwood Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros in the WAC college basketball semifinals.

The Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros jumped to an early lead and coasted past the Cal. State-Bakersfield Roadrunners in the WAC quarterfinals.

Tyron Smith topped the Vaqueros with 19 points and two steals with Greg Bowie II tossing in another 16 points while Terry Winn III added 14 points and three yanks.

Javon Levi and Jordan Jackson gave Texas Rio Grande eleven points each and a combined 12 rebounds with Lesley Varner II chipping in with eight points.

The New Mexico State Aggies walloped the Chicago State Cougars as a 27 point favorite on Thursday to reserve their spot in the semifinals.

The Aggies saw 14 points and six boards from Eli Chuha followed by Terrell Brown who tossed in 13 points and logged three yanks.

New Mexico State received eleven points from CJ Bobbitt while Ivan Aurrecoechea and Johnny McCants netted seven and six points.

Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros are 23-9-1 ATS in their last 33 games overall and are 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS win and  are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games.

New Mexico State Aggies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win and  are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points and  are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.

I think a focused Aggies squad has the potential to put up big numbers and at tournament time I expect to see their best...

Pick:
New Mexico State -8.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
