New York, New York
New York Yankees -383 / Baltimore Orioles +332 O/U: 9
The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees will be meeting up for Game 2 of their MLB series on Saturday.
New York took the first game of this set 7-2 on Thursday. Luke Voit banged a three-run homer in that one and came up with four of the Yankees’ RBI. Greg Bird also managed a solo shot late in the game.
For the Saturday game, the Yankees are going with lefty James Paxton. Last season, Paxton managed a 11-6 mark with a 3.76 ERA and 208 strikeouts over 160.1 innings of work.
In the loss on Thursday, Baltimore’s Trey Mancini logged a double with three hits, a run and an RBI on the day. Jonathan Villar also went 2-for-4 for the Orioles in that one.
On Saturday, the Orioles are sending out Nate Karns. It’s been a full season since we’ve seen Karns, but he went 2-2 with a 4.17 ERA over 45.1 innings with 51 Ks in 2017.
The Orioles are 48-113 in their last 161 on grass and 23-59 in their last 82 after a loss. Baltimore is 15-43 in their last 58 in game two of a series and 14-41 in their last 55 overall.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 after an off day and 40-15 in their last 55 Saturday games. New York is 19-9 in their last 28 versus the AL East and 39-19 in their last 58 in game two of a series.
Well, the line here started out around -295 and it’s ballooned all the way up to almost -400 for the Yankees. It’s pretty unreal from a betting perspective this early in the year, but it makes sense as New York is a World Series contender and Baltimore is… well, let’s just say they won’t be relevant for a while. There’s no way I’m touching this inflated line, but I don’t think New York will lose either.
