Niagara Purple Eagles -6 O/U: 131.5
The Manhattan Jaspers and the Niagara Purple Eagles will meet up on the college basketball court Friday.
Manhattan is currently sitting at 7-17 on the year. After three straight wins over Fairfield, Saint Peter’s and Rider, the Jaspers dropped their last game versus Siena on Friday 51-49.
In the loss to the Saints, Manhattan’s only double-digit scorer was Tyler Reynolds with 18 points, nine rebounds and one assist. Warren Williams managed nine points for the Jaspers there, and Ebube Ebube put up seven points and seven boards.
Over on the Niagara side, they’re 11-14 this season. The Purple Eagles have lost their last three consecutive games, dropping to Quinnipiac, Marist and Iona during that stretch.
In the loss to Iona, Niagara’s Marcus Hammond put up 18 points and six rebounds. Marvin Prochet had a pretty solid line for the Purple Eagles in that one as well, contributing 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
The Jaspers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the MAA. Manhattan is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Friday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. The under is 4-1 in Niagara’s last five overall and 4-1 in their last five versus the MAA.
Manhattan isn’t much of a scoring team obviously, but on evenings when their defense is on point they can remain at least relatively competitive. The Jaspers took a 90-80 win the last time these two teams met up (which is an odd score for Manhattan), so this one could end up on the higher side as well.
Still, all things considered Niagara has the better offense here and with the home lift I expect them to cover without too much difficulty.
