Niagara Falls, New York
Niagara Purple Eagles -1 O/U: 150.5
The Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Niagara Purple Eagles will meet up on the college basketball circuit Sunday.
Quinnipiac enters this one at 10-10 on the season so far. The Bobcats are 2-2 in their last four games, with wins over Marist and Saint Peter’s sandwiched around losses to Niagara and Canisius.
In the loss to Canisius, Quinnipiac’s lead scorer was Cameron Young, with 30 points and eight rebounds. Jacob Rigoni added 18 points for the Bobcats in that one, and Abdulai Bundo led the rebounding with nine alongside four points.
Over on the Niagara side, they’re 11-11 this season. The Purple Eagles are 3-1 in their last four games though, falling to Saint Peter’s and taking out Quinnipiac, Monmouth and Canisius in that time.
In the win over the Griffins, Niagara’s Marvin Prochet led the team on 23 points with four rebonds. Dominic Robb added 14 points and six boards for the Eagles, and James Towns had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Bobcats are 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. Quinnipiac is 4-1 ATS in the last five road games and 3-7-2 ATS in their last 12 Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 9-19-1 ATS in their last 29 Sunday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win. The under is 4-1 in the Eagles’ last five overall and 4-1 in the last five Sunday games.
Quinnipiac has behaved pretty much like a .500 team should for most of the year, but in recent games at least they’ve been competitive even in their losses. The Bobcats lost by just five to Canisius, three to Niagara, two to Canisius prior to that, etc.
Niagara took a 75-72 road win the last time these teams met up, and this should be another close one (and a good one to watch before you settle in for the Super Bowl if you can find it). With the home lift I have to stick with Niagara here.
