Niagara Purple Eagles -3.5 O/U: 140
The Saint Peter’s Peacocks and the Niagara Purple Eagles will match up in college basketball action on Tuesday.
Saint Peter’s stumbles into this one at 5-12 on the year. The Peacocks are only 1-3 over their last four, with a win over Marist mixed in with losses to Monmouth, Fairfield and Manhattan during that span.
In the loss to Manhattan, Saint Peter’s lead scorer was Davauhnte Turner with 14 points and four rebounds. The only other Peacocks player in double-figures there was Derrick Woods on 12 points and five boards.
Over on the Niagara side, they’re 9-10 this season. The Purple Eagles are 2-2 in their last four, with losses to Rider and Siena sandwiched between wins over Iona and Quinnipiac.
In the win over the Bobcats, Niagara’s Marvin Prochet led the way on 24 points, three rebounds and two assists. Chris Barton added 14 points for the Purple Eagles and Raheem Solomon chipped in 12 points.
The Peacocks are 4-0 ATS in their last four following an ATS loss and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 versus the MAA. St. Peter’s is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the MAA. Niagara is 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 Tuesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five following an ATS win.
It’s been a difficult run of games for the Peacocks, who showed a little promise earlier this month but have tumbled since. Saint Peter’s has played a couple of tight games they very well could have won lately, but none has jumped off the page as a good offensive effort.
As for Niagara, they’ve been pretty choppy lately, but they’re scoring pretty well in more games than not. I don’t think the Peacocks have the firepower to keep up, so I’m going with the Eagles on the cover here.
