Greensboro, North Carolina
UNC Greensboro Spartans +1.5 O/U: 141.5
The East Tennessee State Buccaneers and the UNC Greensboro Spartans will meet up on the college basketball court Sunday.
East Tennessee State enters play here with a 22-7 mark overall. Since falling in consecutive games, the Buccaneers have won their last three straight versus the Citadel, Mercer and VMI.
In the win over the Keydets, ETSU’s top scorer was Bo Hodges on 26 points with 12 rebounds and four assists. Daivien Williamson added 20 points for the Buccaneers there, and Mladen Armus put up 12 rebounds.
Over on the UNC Greensboro side, they’re 23-5 this year. After falling in consecutive games versus Furman and Wofford, the Spartans won their last outing versus WCU.
In the OT win over the Catamounts, UNC Greensboro’s Francisco Alonso led the way with 28 points, and Isaiah Miller added 17 points with eight rebounds. James Dickey doubled up for the Spartans in that one with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
East Tennessee State is 4-1 in their last five Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. The Buccaneers are 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 road games and 35-17-2 ATS in their last 54 overall.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Sunday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. UNCG is 1-3-1 ATS in the last five versus the Southern and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall.
After the blowout at the hands of Furman, East Tennessee State has put up three solid outings, scoring at least 88 in each one. The Bucs also allowed just 139 combined points to Mercer and VMI.
As for UNCG, they went into a scoring slump against two tough teams, but played better versus WCU—even though they stalled in the second half and needed OT to get past them. This should be a fun game, but I’m not totally sold on the Spartans right now. I’m going ETSU on the cover here.
