The Western Carolina Catamounts snapped their 4-game losing streak and improved to 7-21 (4-11 Southern) on the season after defeating The Citadel Bulldogs, 103-82, this past Saturday. Western Carolina had no trouble putting up points against the Bulldogs defense and had no trouble pulling away for victory in the 2nd half after putting up 60 2nd half points in the victory. Western Carolina shot 57.7% from the field and 63.3% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Catamounts was Onno Steger who had 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The UNC Greensboro Spartans lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 22-5 (11-3 Southern) on the season after being defeated by the Wofford Terriers, 80-50, this past Saturday. UNC Greensboro trailed by just a 36-30 margin at halftime, however, was dominated by the Terriers on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and couldn’t fight back after Wofford took a 54-34 lead with 12:22 left in regulation. UNC Greensboro shot just 36.0% from the field and 30.8% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Spartans was Kyrin Galloway who had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal.
On the season, UNC Greensboro is averaging 76.7 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Spartans are averaging 7.8 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UNC Greensboro has been led by Francis Alonso (16.4 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.1 spg), Isaiah Miller (15.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.9 spg), Kyrin Galloway (9.9 ppg, 4.0 rpg), and Demetrius Troy (8.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.2 spg).
Defensively, UNC Greensboro is holding their opponents to an average of 67.0 ppg on 43.5% shooting from the field. The Spartans have a rebound margin of 0.3 and a turnover margin of 5.6.
The Catamounts are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win, however, are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The Spartans are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss.
Western Carolina has lost 7 of their last 10 games and currently rank just 227th in scoring offense, 336th in scoring defense, and 340th in defensive FG%.
UNC Greensboro has won 8 of their last 10 games and come into this match-up ranked 83rd in scoring offense, 90th in FG%, and 63rd in scoring defense.
UNC Greensboro has been blown out by Wofford in both their games against the Terriers, however, I think those performances just show how good a team Wofford and UNC Greensboro is a solid team. UNC Greensboro has struggled against teams that can shut them down offensively, which shouldn’t be a worry against the Catamounts who come into this game as one of the worst rated defensive teams in all of College Basketball. Western Carolina is just 3-12 on the road this season and as I think expect the Spartans to bounce back at home, where they are 12-1 on the season, I’m taking UNC Greensboro to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
