The Iona Gaels battle the North Carolina Tar Heels in round one of the NCAA college basketball tournament. 

The Iona Gaels once again reigned supreme in the MAAC with an 81-60 rout of the Monmouth Hawks in the conference championship.

Asante Gist led the Gaels rout with a contest high 22 points and four assists while Tajuan Agee added 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

EJ Crawford and Ben Perez gave Iona 15 and 14 points and a combined eleven rebounds with Rickey McGill tossing in ten points with four pulls and three assists.

The North Carolina Tar Heels dropped a 74-73 decision to the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC semifinals to go 2-1 against their biggest rivals.

The Tar Heels saw 23 points and five pulls from Cameron Johnson followed by Luke Maye with 14 points and a game high 13 rebounds.
