Wilmington, North Carolina
UNC-Wilmington Seahawks -4.5 O/U: 160.5
The Drexel Dragons and the UNC Wilmington Seahawks will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Drexel enters this game at 8-10 overall on the year. The Dragons had lost five of six games coming into their latest appearance versus the College of Charleston, but managed to bang out a 79-78 victory there.
In the win over the Cougars, Drexel’s Trevor John topped the team on 22 points and five rebounds. Alihan Demir also had a nice evening for the Dragons there with 20 points, three assists and five boards.
Over on the UNC Wilmington side, they’re 6-11 this season. After winning consecutive games versus James Madison and Towson, the Seahawks were taken out in their last game versus Delaware.
In the loss to the Blue Hens, UNCW’s lead scorer was Jay Estime with 15 points and five rebounds. Jeantal Cylia added 13 points for the Seahawks, and Devontae Cacok doubled up on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Drexel is 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the CAA and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win. The Dragons are 0-4 ATS in their last four following an ATS win and the over is 4-1 in the last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are 5-1 ATS in the last six home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. UNCW is 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the CAA and 6-13 in their last 19 after an ATS loss.
Drexel gets all the credit in the world for taking out a strong Charleston team, but this season that’s the exception as opposed to the norm. The Dragons give up more points than they can compete with more often than not.
Drexel may have a good matchup here however, as the UNCW offense has logged fewer than 70 points in three of their last four games.
I’m going to take the Dragons on the cover here, but I’m not totally in love with the pick.
