North Dakota State Bison -7.5 O/U: 142
The Western Illinois Leathernecks and the North Dakota State Bison will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Western Illinois comes into this game at a sketchy 6-10 on the season. The Leathernecks are 2-4 in their last six games, beating Chicago State and Denver while falling to IUPUI, Northern IL, SD State and Oral Roberts in that time.
In the loss to the Eagles, Western Illinois’ Kobe Webster and Isaac Johnson each led the team on 15 points, with a combined seven rebounds and seven assists as well. Brandon Gilbeck also finished in double-figures (12 points) for the Leathernecks.
Over on the North Dakota State side, they’re currently 7-10 this year. The Bison are 2-2 over their last four outings, falling to Fort Wayne and Omaha while beating South Dakota and Dickinson State in that time.
In the win over the Blue Hawks, ND State’s Tyson Ward led the way on 15 points, six rebounds and three assists in just 16 minutes of action. Every Bison who stepped on the floor in that one scored, and Deng Geu came away with a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.
The Bison are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 following a straight-up win and 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 overall. ND State is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 versus the Summit and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games.
Meanwhile, the Leathernecks are 2-6 ATS in the last eight overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. The under is 4-1 in Western Illinois’ last five Thursday games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
Western Illinois got drilled in the first half 48-26 by a not-so-great Oral Roberts team, and things didn’t get much better from there. It was another entry in a line of up-and-down performances for the Leathernecks this year.
As for ND State, they’ve been very generous on defense, but their scoring capabilities have been a bit more predictable. I’m going to stick with the Bison here.
