The Oklahoma Sooners go to Denton, Texas to take on the North Texas Mean Green at the UNT Coliseum on Thursday. The Oklahoma Sooners are coming off of a win over Missouri, right after they had just experienced their first loss of the season against Stanford.
The Oklahoma Sooners are 6-1 on the season and we're on a five-game win streak before falling to Stanford. However, Oklahoma has yet to have an away game and it will be interesting to see how the Sooners play away from their arena.
The North Texas Mean Green is coming off of a win over UT-Arlington Mavericks. Javion Hamlet and Umoja Gibson both scored 18 points to get The Mean Green back to their winning ways.
North Texas is 3-5 on the season and has been a very inconsistent team, going on multiple losing streaks, but they still haven't been able to get on any kind of winning streak. What North Texas does have is terrific defense that is allowing only 59.4 points per game which is good enough for 26 in the nation.
Oklahoma is 4-3 ATS this season.
Sooners are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
North Texas is 4-3 ATS this season.
Mean Green Eagles are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
Oklahoma aren't necessarily an impressive team in one area, despite their record. It's interesting to see if Oklahoma is a very good team or not, and I think that in the next few weeks we will find out if they are not. North Texas has a great defense and may be able to minimize the Sooners. However, I still think the Sooners are the superior team and they walk out of this game with a win. Final score prediction, Oklahoma Sooners wins 76-61
