The Rice Owls take the hardwood at the North Texas Mean Green in Saturday college basketball action.

The  Rice Owls  look  to get  back  in the  win  column after  a narrow 65-64 loss to UTEP as a 5.5 point road underdog.

Rice fell behind by five points at the half way point but struggled to find their shot at 36.7% which made the 44.6% shooting of the Miners a winner.

Jack Williams was the Owls top option with 15 points and eleven rebounds with Robert Martin adding 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Rice received ten points and three assists from Chris Mullins followed by Ako Adams who contributed eight points and three helpers.

The red hot North Texas Mean Green saw an eight game winning streak end in a 76-74 loss at UTSA as a two point favorite.

North Texas connected at 40.6% from the floor with 15 turnovers which made the 45.2% shooting of the Roadrunners a winning effort.

Roosevelt Smart led the Mean Green with 18 points and five pulls while Ryan Woolridge added 17 points and  nine rebounds.

North Texas saw Jorden Duffy toss in 15 points and post four boards followed by Zachary Simmons with 12 points and eight rebounds.
