North Texas Mean Green -8.5 O/U: 135.5
The UAB Blazers and the North Texas Mean Green will meet up in college basketball action on Thursday.
UAB heads into this game with a 12-7 mark on the year. Following losses to LA Tech and Southern Miss, the Blazers have won their last two against UTEP and UTSA.
In the victory versus the Roadrunners, UAB’s Jalen Perry led the charge with 18 points and four rebounds. Doubling up for the Green was Makhtar Gueye, with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and six players on the team managed double-figure points.
Over on the North Texas side, they’re 17-2 this year. The Mean Green had a nice winning streak going before falling to UTSA, but then got things back on track with a victory versus Rice in their last outing.
In the victory versus the Owls, North Texas’ Jorden Duffy led the team with 19 points and four rebounds. Ryan Woolridge added 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Green, and Umoja Gibson chipped in 15 points.
The Blazers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus CUSA and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games. UAB is 8-24 ATS in their last 32 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Green are 1-4 ATS in their salt five overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus CUSA. North Texas is 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games and the under is 7-3-2 in their last 12 versus CUSA.
The Blazers’ win over UTSA was a nice well-rounded effort, and just about everyone got in on the action. It’s a good sign of things to come, and makes their relative fumbles against LA Tech and Southern Miss a little easier to digest.
If UAB can continue that across-the-roster play, they’ve got a good shot at covering in a hostile environment here. The Green have been ice cold ATS at home lately so I’m sticking with the Blazers to make this one interesting.
