The Delaware Blue Hens will travel to Matthews Arena to take on the Northeastern Huskies this Sunday night in College Basketball action.

The Delaware Blue Hens lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 8-6 (0-1 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the Hofstra Pride, 91-46, this past Friday night. Delaware was dominated on both ends of the floor and couldn’t fight back after Hofstra went into halftime with a 48-18 halftime lead. Delaware shot just 26.2% from the field while allowing Hofstra to shoot 53.4% from the field and 60.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Blue Hens was Eric Carter who had 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

On the season, Delaware is averaging 73.1 ppg on 47.0% shooting from the field. The Blue Hens are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 38.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Delaware has been led by Eric Carter (18.6 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 bpg), Ithiel Horton (12.7 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.3 spg), Kevin Anderson (11.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.0 spg), and Ryan Allen (11.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Delaware is allowing their opponents to average 72.1 ppg on 42.4% shooting from the field. The Blue Hens have a rebound margin of 0.1 and a turnover margin of -2.9.

The Northeastern Huskies (1-0 CAA) won their 2nd straight game and improved to 7-6 on the season after defeating the Drexel Dragons, 93-83, on Friday night. Northeastern had their way offensively for agianst the Dragons and pulled away late after taking a 79-68 lead with 5:29 left in regulation. Northeastern shot 56.1% from the field and 52.4% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Huskies was Vasa Pusica who had 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and a steal.

On the season, Northeastern is averaging 73.5 ppg on 49.0% shooting from the field. The Huskies are averaging 9.2 three-pointers per game on 39.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Northeastern has been led by Vasa Pusica (16.6 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.1 spg), Jordan Roland (15.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 spg), Donnell Gresham Jr. (11.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.3 spg), and Anthony Green (9.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg).

Defensively, Northeastern is allowing their opponents to average 73.4 ppg on 47.7% shooting from the field. The Huskies have a rebound margin of 0.2 and a turnover margin of -1.8.

The Blue Hens are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games. The Huskies are 5-2-2 ATS in their last 9 Sunday games, however, are 0-3-2 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Delaware will be looking to bounce back after their ugly loss this past Friday agianst Hofstra and I think they’re in a good position to do so as they rank 93rd in FG% & 140th in defensive FG%. Northeastern is one of the teams to beat in the CAA this season as they have a talented starting five led by Vasa Pusica, however, the Huskies have really struggled defensively this season as they rank just 223rd in scoring defense & 329th in defensive FG%. Delaware was able to upset Northeastern on the road last season and as I think the Blue Hens offensive led by Eric Carter and Kevin Anderson will have some success agianst the Huskies defense, I’m taking Delaware and the points in this one.

Delaware Blue Hens +12.5
