The Towson Tigers dropped to 10-18 (6-9 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the Hofstra Pride, 91-82 in double-OT, this past Thursday. Towson was solid defensively agianst the high-scoring Hofstra defense, however, their offense ran out of gas as the Tigers were held scoreless in the 2nd overtime. Towson shot 45.6% from the field and outrebounded Hofstra by a 48-41 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Tigers was Brian Fobbs who had 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Northeastern Huskies improved to 17-10 (11-4 CAA) on the season after defeating the James Madison Dukes, 76-60, this past Thursday night. Northeastern was outstanding on the offensive end agianst the Dukes and pulled away in the 2nd half after taking a 66-46 lead with 4:55 left in regulation. Northeastern shot 53.7% from the field and 41.2% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Huskies was Vasa Pusica who had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assits, and 2 steals.
On the season, Northeastern is averaging 75.6 ppg on 47.8% shooting from the field. The Huskies are averaging 9.5 three-pointers per game on 38.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Towson has won 5 of their last 9 games and comes into this game ranked 286th in scoring offense, 173rd in scoring defense, and 33rd in rebound margin.
Northeastern has won 6 of their last 7 games and currently rank 108th in scoring offense, 32nd in FG%, and 185th in scoring defense.
Northeastern is arguably the best team in the CAA and has been playing solid as of late, however, the Huskies had no answers for the Tigers on the road earlier this season in a 75-72 loss. Towson has looked a different team over the past three weeks as they’ve been far better on both ends of the court than the tigers team that we saw struggle to start the season. Towson dominated Northeastern on the boards in their first match-up and as I think the Tigers will be able to keep this game close like they did agianst Hofstra on Thursday, I’m taking Towson and the points. Good Luck!
