Wednesday college basketball action pits the Illinois State Redbirds against the Northern Iowa Panthers.

The Illinois State Redbirds have followed a thee game winning streak with consecutive losses after a 66-65 loss at Missouri State on Sunday.

Illinois State led by five heading to the break but struggled to get stops down the stretch with the Bears winning with a 17-7 edge at the line.

Phil Fayne topped the Redbirds with 22 points and six boards followed by Milik Yarbrough with another 17 points and six rebounds.

Zach Copeland gave Illinois State 12 points and five pulls while five players contributed another 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Northern Iowa Panther have dropped three of four after an 83-77 defeat at Drake as a 5.5 point underdog on Saturday.

Northern Iowa kept the game close behind 50.8% marksmanship but the Bulldogs sank half their looks and went 17-18 at the stripe.

AJ Green was the top weapon  for  the Panthers  with  19 points and five helpers while Wyatt Lohaus tossed in 16 points.

Spencer Haldeman gave Northern Iowa 12 points and three yanks followed by Tywhon Pickford and Trae Berhow with a combined 18 points and eleven rebounds.
