The Line: Northwestern Wildcats -15 -- Over/Under: 139
The Columbia Lions and the Northwestern Wildcats will meet up in college basketball action on Sunday.
Columbia enters this one at 3-8 on the year so far. Following consecutive wins over Bryant and Iona, the Lions have dropped their last pair versus Boston College and Rutgers.
In the Knights game, Columbia’s Quinton Adlesh led the way with 16 points and three rebounds, and Patrick Tape posted 15 points and four rebounds. Jake Killingsworth was the only other Lion in double-figures with 12 points and four boards.
Over on the Northwestern side, they’re 8-4 on the year. The Wildcats have lost three of their last five games, but all the defeats have come against ranked teams Indiana, Michigan and Oklahoma.
In the Sooners game, Northwestern’s Vic Law managed 23 points with eight rebounds and Dererk Pardon put up 15 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Taylor also finished in double-figures for the Wildcats on 14 points and five rebounds.
The Lions are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four following a straight-up loss and 4-0-1 ATS int heir last five non-conference games. Columbia is 8-1 ATS in their last nine Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in the last five versus the Big Ten.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 Sunday games. The over is 5-1-1 in Northwestern’s last seven versus the Ivy League and the under is 5-2-1 in the last eight Sunday games.
It looked like Columbia was getting it going for a few games there, as they were razor-close in most of their losses and able to string together consecutive wins early this month. We haven’t seen the best of this team just yet.
That said, Northwestern is on the cusp of being a great team, as they’ve played the elite squads in the country very tough. I’m going to have to go with the Wildcats here.
