The Line: Northwestern Wildcats +5 -- Over/Under: 129.5
The Michigan Wolverines and the Northwestern Wildcats will meet up in college basketball action on Tuesday.
Michigan rolls in here strong at 8-0 so far. The Wolverines have dispatched Norfolk State, Holy Cross, Villanova, GW, Providence, Chattanooga, UNC and Purdue in succession this season.
In the Boilermakers game, Michigan’s Jordan Poole led the way on 21 points, five rebounds and one assist. Jon Teske had a nice line for the Wolverines on 17 points and eight rebounds, while Ignaz Brazdeikis added 12 points.
Over on the Northwestern side, they’re 6-2 this year. The Wildcats have taken out New Orleans, American, Binghamton, La Salle, Utah and Georgia Tech but fallen to Fresno State and Indiana this season so far.
In the Hoosiers matchup, Northwestern’s leading scorer was Dererk Pardon on 24 points and 10 rebounds with one assist. The only other Wildcat in double-figures there was Vic Law with 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Wolverines are 7-2 ATS in their last nine Tuesday games and 21-6-1 ATS in their last 28 versus the Big Ten. Michigan is 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 road games and 36-17-3 ATS in their last 56 overall.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten. Northwestern is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS win.
Well, Michigan looks to be doing pretty well as expected this year. The Wolverines’ two raked games were unmitigated blowouts, and they’ve got things rolling quite well.
As for Northwestern, they looked pretty solid coming out of the gate but have fallen into something of a scoring funk lately. If the Wildcats can get it together they could do some damage, however.
I have to go with the Wolverines to keep rolling here.
