The Line: Northwestern Wildcats -8.5 -- Over/Under:
Up at Allstate Arena on Tuesday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Northwestern Wildcats will be matching up in college basketball activity.
Nebraska enters this game with a 10-5 record overall. The Cornhuskers have won their last three games, most recently against Stetson. In that latest game, Nebraska’s James Palmer and Isaac Copeland each bagged 13 points.
Palmer leads the Cornhuskers in scoring this year with 15.1 PPG, and Copeland is second on 12.1 PPG. Also in Nebraska’s double-digit scoring club are Glynn Watson (12.0 PPG) and Anton Gill (10.6 PPG).
Over on the Wildcats’ side, they’re sitting at 10-5 this year. Northwestern has won five of their last six games, with the most recent win coming against Brown. In that one, Northwestern’s top scorer was Dererk Pardon with 18 points.
Scottie Lindsey leads the Wildcats this year with 14.7 PPG, and Vic Law is second on 13.5 PPG and 5.0 RPG. Also in double-digits for Northwestern are Bryant McIntosh (13.3 PPG) and Pardon (12.1 PPG).
Nebraska is 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six Tuesday games. The Cornhuskers are also 5-1 ATS in their last six Tuesday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in the last seven home games versus a team with a losing road record and 2-6 ATS in the last eight following a straight-up win. The under is 7-2 in Northwestern’s last nine overall and 5-2 in their last seven Tuesday games.
Nebraska had a couple of good scoring outings late last month, but needed some major bench help to get past Stetson 71-62. As for Northwestern, they’ve shown flashes of greatness this season, but also flashes of head-scratching play. All things considered, though, I think the Wildcats will be just fine here and cover.
