The Ohio State Buckeyes and Northwestern Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Welsh-Ryan Arena.

The Ohio State Buckeyes need a win after splitting their last 12 games. The Ohio State Buckeyes are averaging 70.1 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 65.2 points on 41.6 percent shooting. Kaleb Wesson is averaging 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds while C.J. Jackson is averaging 11.9 points and 3.4 assists. Duane Washington Jr. is grabbing 2.5 rebounds and Luther Muhammad is dishing 1.9 assists. The Ohio State Buckeyes are shooting 34.4 percent from beyond the arc and 73.2 percent from the free throw line. The Ohio State Buckeyes are allowing 32.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.9 rebounds per game. The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost four of their last six road games.

The Northwestern Wildcats need a win here to snap a 10-game losing streak. The Northwestern Wildcats are averaging 66 points on 40.3 percent shooting and allowing 65.1 points on 42.6 percent shooting. Vic Law is averaging 15.3 points and 6.4 rebounds while Dererk Pardon is averaging 13.9 points and 1.9 assists. Ryan Taylor is the third double-digit scorer and A.J. Turner is grabbing 2.4 rebounds. The Northwestern Wildcats are shooting 31.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72.8 percent from the free throw line. The Northwestern Wildcats are allowing 29.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 30.7 rebounds per game. The Northwestern Wildcats have lost their last four home games.

The Buckeyes are 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 Wednesday games, 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. Big Ten and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Wildcats are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games, 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. Big Ten and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Buckeyes are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Northwestern and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The under is 7-3 in Wildcats last 10 overall. The under is 6-2 in Buckeyes last 8 road games.

Ohio State won the first meeting a couple of weeks ago by 14 points and has won nine of the last 10 meetings against Northwestern overall. The Northwestern Wildcats have not only lost 10 straight games, but they're shooting just 36.3 percent from the field in their last five games while losing by an average of nine points. The Ohio State Buckeyes are quite inconsistent  and have scoring issues themselves, but none of their struggles are what the Wildcats are dealing with currently. I'll side with OSU simply based off the history between these two teams.
