The Wisconsin Badgers and the Northwestern Wildcats meet in Big Ten college basketball action from Welsh-Ryan Arena on Saturday night.

The Wisconsin Badgers will look to build on a 64-58 win over Illinois in their last outing. Brad Davison led the Badgers with 18 points on 5 of 10 shooting with 7 rebounds and 3 assists while Khalil Iverson added 16 points with 9 rebounds as the only other Wisconsin player to score in double figures in the winning effort. Brevin Pritzl added 6 points with a team-high 10 rebounds while Ethan Happ had 6 points and a pair of steals. Happ still leads Wisconsin by averaging a double-double per game with 17.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season. As a team, Wisconsin is averaging 69.9 points on 46.5% shooting from the field, 38.7% from behind the arc and 65% from the foul line this season. The Badgers are also tough on defense, sitting 9th in D-I in terms of scoring defense, allowing just 61.2 points per game this season.

The Northwestern Wildcats will be out to snap a 7-game losing streak after a 63-49 loss to Ohio State in their last outing. Vic Law led the Wildcats with 10 points along with 7 rebounds as the lone Wildcat to score in double figures in the losing effort. A.J. Turner added 9 points while Dererk Pardon chipped in 8 points and a team-high 9 rebounds as well in the loss. Law leads Northwestern in scoring with 15.2 points per game while Pardon leads the Wildcats in rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game and Turner leads Northwestern in assists with 2.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Northwestern is averaging 66.3 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the field, 31.9% from behind the arc and 72.7% from the foul line this season.

Wisconsin is 13-4 ATS in their last 17 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a win while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Northwestern is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games following a loss. Wisconsin is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams at Northwestern.

Wisconsin continues to be a tough out on the road and while the Badgers had to grind it out against Illinois, the Badgers got the win and come into this one well-rested. Northwestern’s scoring woes continued against Ohio State as the Wildcats scored less than 56 points for the 6th time in their last 7 games, including failing to break 50 for the 2nd time. Until Northwestern cures their scoring woes, the Wildcats have to be an auto-fade in my opinion, so I’ll lay the points with Wisconsin here.

Wisconsin -5.5
