Ohio State Buckeyes -10 O/U: 131
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Ohio State Buckeyes will match up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Rutgers is currently sitting at 11-9 on the season. After a set of three straight losses, the Scarlet Knights have bagged wins in their last trio versus Nebraska, Penn State and Indiana.
In the win over the Hoosiers, Rutgers’ leading scorer was Geo Baker on 16 points, five assists and three rebounds. Eugene Omoruyi doubled up for the Scarlet Knights in that one with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
Over on the Ohio State side, they’re 13-7 this season. The Buckeyes have lost six of their last seven games, dropping to Michigan State, Rutgers, Iowa, Maryland, Purdue and Michigan during that stretch.
In the loss to the Wolverines, Kaleb Wesson led the Buckeyes in scoring with 12 points, seven rebounds and one assist. CJ Jackson was the only other Ohio State player in double-figures in that one with 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
The Knights are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 25-53-1 ATS in their last 79 after an ATS win. Rutgers is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five versus a team with a winning straight-up record.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. Ohio State is 1-6 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten and 1-7 ATS in their last eight overall.
The Knights started out relatively slow in the Indiana game, but posted a pretty solid effort in the second half (38-29) to bag the win 66-58. The sub-70-point outing is pretty typical for Rutgers these days, as they seem to be more comfortable in slower-paced, defensive games.
Ohio State is in something of the same boat, but the difference there is that the Buckeyes aren’t winning games lately. This will probably end up with a points total in the 120s or so, and I like Rutgers a little better as the less sluggish team.
