We have some MAC-tion on the college basketball schedule Tuesday night, as the Akron Zips battle the Ohio Bobcats.

As a team, Akron is scoring 72.4 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field, 37% from behind the arc and 69.6% from the foul line this season.
The Ohio Bobcats will look to snap a 4 game losing skid of their own after a 101-98 double overtime loss to Central Michigan gave Ohio their 7th loss in their last 8 games. Teyvion Kirk and Mike Laster tied for the team-high with 24 points, with Kirk shooting 7 of 13 with a 9 of 15 mark from the foul line while Laster shot 8 of 13 with 4 threes for the Bobcats. Gavin Block came 2nd with 16 points, 8 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists, while Doug Taylor added 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for the double-double. James Gollon added 13 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists of his own to round out the scoring in double figures for the Bobcats in the loss. Zach Butler also chipped in 5 assists with 3 steals in the losing effort for Ohio. Kirk leads the Bobcats with an average of 15.2 points per game while Taylor leads in rebounding with 7.2 boards per game and Block leads the way in assists for Ohio with 3.4 helpers per game this season. As a team, Ohio is scoring 74.3 points per game on 43.3% shooting from the field, 35.5% from behind the arc and 70% from the foul line this season.
Akron is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the over is 17-8-1 in their last 26 Tuesday games. Ohio is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 conference matchups while the under is 9-1 in their last 10 games overall. Akron is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
I would like to think that Ohio would exact some revenge at home after losing the first meeting earlier this season. However, there is no way I’m laying this many points with the Bobcats after how Ohio has looked as of late. Akron isn’t playing much better, but they are in much better form than Ohio and are getting points here, so I think that’s the way to go in this one.
