The Oklahoma Sooners and Ole Miss Rebels meet Friday in the first round of the college basketball NCAA Tournament at the Colonial Life Arena.

The Oklahoma Sooners enter this tournament splitting their last eight games. The Oklahoma Sooners are averaging 71.2 points on 44.5 percent shooting and allowing 68.2 points on 40.2 percent shooting. Christian James is averaging 14.4 points and 1.8 assists while Brady Manek is averaging 12 points and 6.1 rebounds. Kristian Doolittle is the third double-digit scorer and Aaron Calixte is grabbing 1.8 rebounds. The Oklahoma Sooners are shooting 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 69.1 percent from the free throw line. The Oklahoma Sooners are allowing 33.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.6 rebounds per game. The Oklahoma Sooners have lost five of their last six non-home games.

The Ole Miss Rebels enter this tournament losing five of their last seven games. The Ole Miss Rebels are averaging 75.4 points on 45.9 percent shooting and allowing 70.4 points on 44.1 percent shooting. Breein Tyree is averaging 18.2 points and 2.8 assists while Terence Davis is averaging 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds. Devontae Shuler is dishing three assists and Blake Hinson is grabbing 2.8 rebounds. The Ole Miss Rebels are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free throw line. The Ole Miss Rebels are allowing 37.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 30.5 rebounds per game. The Ole Miss Rebels have split their last six non-home games.

The Sooners are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games, 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 non-conference games and 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games. The Rebels are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games, 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 Friday games and 24-9 ATS in their last 33 games overall. The under is 8-3 in Rebels last 11 overall. The under is 6-2 in Sooners last 8 vs. Southeastern.

The Oklahoma Sooners just don't have the offensive firepower or depth to hang with an Ole Miss team that shoots high percentages from everywhere on the court, including being one of the best free throw shooting teams in the country. Oklahoma finished the season in really poor form and can go long stretches where it looks like they're sleepwalking. The Ole Miss Rebels not only will have the best player on the court for this game, but they're also 23-9 ATS on the season and 12-4 ATS in non-home games. I'll side with the Rebels in this toss-up first round matchup.

Ole Miss -1
