Sunday second round college basketball action features the Virginia Cavaliers butting heads with the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Oklahoma Sooners jumped on the Ole Miss Rebels early and never let up in a 95-72 rout as a one point underdog to move on to the Field of 32.

The Sooners scored at will with the twosome of Christian James and Rashard Odomes pumping in 20 points apiece with a combined four pulls.

Oklahoma saw another 19 points, 15 rebounds and five helpers from Kristian Doolittle while Brady Manek added 18 points and three steals.

The Virginia Cavaliers rallied from a six point halftime hole to down the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs 71-56 as a 22.5 point favorite on Friday.

De’Andre Hunter spearheaded the Cavaliers come back with 23 points and six boards and two blocks with Mamadi Diakite  tossing 17 points and hauling in nine rebounds.

Ty Jerome gave Virginia 13 points, three yanks, six helpers and three steals followed by Kyle Guy with eight points and another six boards.

Oklahoma Sooners are 14-3-1 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games and  are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Sunday games andare 4-9 ATS in their last 13 NCAA Tournament games and  are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.

Virginia Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games and  are 43-19-1 ATS in their last 63 games overall and  are 38-18-1 ATS in their last 57 games following a straight up win and  are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 NCAA Tournament games.

Mississippi couldn’t defend anything Oklahoma did in the first round while Virginia looked like the same team that suffered a first round loss a year ago until rebounding in the final 20 minutes. I’d do something on the Cavaliers assuming we see the same team we saw in the second half against Gardner-Webb…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
