The Thundering Herd are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. C-USA opponents however, are just 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Monarchs are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 6-1 ATSA in their last 7 home games.
Marshall has one of the better scoring duos in the C-USA in Jon Elmore & C.J. Burks, however, the Thundering Herd lack depth and have really struggled defensively this season as they currently rank 338th in scoring defense & 301st in scoring defense. Old Dominion continues to rack up wins as they feature one of the better defenses in the country that currently ranks 4th in scoring defense & 2nd in defensive FG%. Marshall needs to put up a bunch of points and that’s been an issue for the Thundering Herd when they’ve faced strong defensive teams as they’ve averaged just 66.3 ppg in road games agianst Maryland, Texas A&M, and Virginia. Old Dominion has shown us that they can play agianst top-tier competition after their upset victory over Syracuse and as I think their offense will be able to put up more points than normal agianst the Thundering Herd defense, I’m taking Old Dominion to cover this spread.
