Ole Miss Rebels -10.5 -- O/U: 148.5
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels meet in SEC college basketball action from the Pavilion at Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon.
The Georgia Bulldogs will look to rebound and snap a 7-game losing streak after a controversial 68-67 loss to Mississippi State in their last outing. Jordan Harris led the Dawgs with 13 points on 4 of 6 shooting with 3 threes while Rayshaun Hammonds added 12 points and 10 rebounds with a team-high 4 assists for the double-double. William Jackson II had 11 points on 4 of 9 shooting with 3 triples and 4 assists of his own while Derek Ogbeide and Tyree Crump has 10 points to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Georgia in the losing effort. Nicolas Claxton also added 9 points to match his 9 rebounds as well in the loss. Claxton leads Georgia with an average of 12.7 points, 9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season. As a team, Georgia is averaging 73.9 points per game on 44.6% shooting from the field, 33.3% from behind the arc and 71.6% from the foul line this season.
The Ole Miss Rebels will look to rebound after suffering a 79-64 loss to South Carolina in their last outing, snapping their 4-game winning streak. Terence Davis led the Rebels with 18 points while Breein Tyree contributed 17 points on 6 of 14 shooting with a team-high 5 assists as the only other Ole Miss player to score in double figures in the losing effort. KJ Buffen and Devontae Shuler each had 6 points, with Buffen outrebounding Shuler 8 rebounds to 7. Tyree leads Ole Miss in scoring with 18.3 points per game while Davis leads the Rebels with 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 76.6 points per game on 46.5% shooting from the field, 36.2% from behind the 3-point line and 76.9% from the foul line this season.
Georgia is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 25-11 in their last 36 conference games. Ole Miss is 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. Georgia is 18-6 ATS in the last 24 meetings between these two teams and 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings at Ole Miss.
Georgia hung around against Mississippi State and could have maybe snapped their winning streak if a fan didn’t throw something on the court to result in a technical foul. However, the fact is that the losing continues for Georgia and now the Bulldogs go on the road where they haven’t played their best basketball this season and have had a hard time covering games. Ole Miss, despite losing to South Carolina, continues to be a profitable team to back ATS and despite Georgia having a large chunk of success in this matchup, I’m going to side with Ole Miss to buck the trends and I’ll lay the points with the Rebels here as I just can’t trust Georgia right now.
