Omaha allowed Western Illinois to fight back after leading by a 66-59 margin with 2:35 left in regulation, however, was still able to secure the victory the Mavericks, Zach Johnson, made a jumper with 0:29 seconds remaining to put Omaha up for good. Omaha shot 46.4% from the field and outrebounded Western Illinois by a 34-24 margin in the victory. The Mastodons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 39-17-3 ATS in their last 59 Saturday games. The Mavericks are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
Fort Wayne has won 3 of their last 5 games and have been led by their offense that ranks 34th in scoring offense, 143rd in FG%, and 28th in three-pointers made per game. Omaha picked up a much-needed win against Western Illinois, however, the Mavericks have struggled all season defensively and come into this game ranked just 341st in scoring defense, 315th in defensive FG%, and 272nd in turnover margin. Omaha can give up a bunch of points at any given time, however, the Mavericks were competitive in their 4-point loss at Fort Wayne earlier this season and as the Mastodons are just 3-9 on the road this season, I’m taking Omaha and the points in this one.
