The Stanford Cardinal and the Oregon State Beavers meet in Pac-12 conference college basketball action from the Gill Coliseum on Thursday night.

The Stanford Cardinal will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 84-81 road win over Cal in their last outing. KZ Okpala led the Cardinal with 30 points on 10 of 17 shooting with a 10 of 16 mark from the foul line along with team-highs of 8 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of steals. Bryce Wills came 2nd with 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting while Daejon Davis added 14 points to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Stanford in the win. Okpala leads Stanford with an average of 18.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while Davis leads the Cardinal in assists with 4.3 assists per game this season. As a team, Stanford is averaging 73.2 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field, 33% from behind the 3-point line and 67.8% from the foul line this season.

The Oregon State Beavers will also be looking to improve on back-to-back wins following an 81-72 road win over Utah in their last outing. Tres Tinkle led the Beavers with 31 points on 10 of 15 shooting with 3 threes, an 8 of 9 mark from the foul line and 6 rebounds in addition to a team-high 4 assists. Kylor Kelley and Ethan Thomspon each had 13 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Oregon State in the win, with Kelley shooting 5 of 6 from the floor with 4 boards and a whopping 6 blocks while Thompson had 5 rebounds and pair of steals. Stephen Thompson Jr. added 8 points with a team-high 7 rebounds and 3 steals as well in the victory. Tinkle leads Oregon State with an average of 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. As a team, Oregon State is averaging 74.7 points per game on 47% shooting from the field, 32.8% from behind the 3-point line and 73.8% from the foul line this season.

Stanford is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record. Oregon State is 10-1 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a losing road record and 11-3 in their last 14 conference games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall. Stanford is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams at Oregon State.

Stanford and the points could be tempting because of the success that the Cardinal have had on the road in this matchup and the fact that Stanford has won back-to-back road games. However, those wins came against Cal in narrow fashion and Washington State who have a combined record of 13-30 and are the bottom two teams in the Pac-12 right now. The Cardinal’s last 3 road games prior to that were all losses to UCLA, USC and Washington by an average of 16.3 points per game and since I think more highly of Oregon State than I do UCLA and USC, I think that the Beavers can put out a double-digit win, so I’ll lay the points with Oregon State here.
