Oregon vs. Oregon State - 01/05/2019 NCAA BB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks meet in Pac-12 conference college basketball action from the Matthew Knight Arena on Saturday night.

The Oregon State Beavers will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 4 games, but took a step in the right direction with an 80-59 win over Central Connecticut State last time out. Tres Tinkle led the Beavers with 20 points on 4 of 9 shooting with an 11 of 13 mark from the foul line along with a share of the team-high with 8 rebounds. Stephen Thompson Jr. added 17 points on 8 of 15 shooting with a team-high 4 assists while Kylor Kelley added 14 points with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Ethan Thompson added 11 points and 7 rebounds while Zach Reichle added 10 points to round out the scoring in double figures for Oregon State in the winning effort. Tinkle leads Oregon State with an average of 19.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Oregon State is averaging 73.2 points per game on 46.4% shooting from the field, 32.3% from behind the arc and 74.2% from the foul line this season.

The Oregon Ducks will look to build some steam after a 62-50 win over Boise State in their last outing. Ehab Amin led the Ducks with 23 points on 8 of 13 shooting with a pair of threes and a team-high 6 rebounds along with 3 steals while Paul White added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals of his own as the only other Oregon player to score in double figures in the winning effort. Payton Pritchard dished out a team-high 5 assists while Francis Okoro added 6 rebounds and Victor Bailey Jr. added 9 points and 3 steals as well in the win. Bol Bol missed the game and is expected to be out for the season with a foot injury, which hurts as he led Oregon in scoring with 21 points per game. Pritchard leads the Ducks in assists with 4.5 assists per game while Kenny Wooten leads Oregon in assists with 4.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Oregon is averaging 72.1 points per game on 46% shooting from the field, 34.3% from behind the arc and 76.4% from the foul line this season.

Oregon State is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall. Oregon is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 games following a win. Oregon State is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and 1-5-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams at Oregon.

The Ducks have had the upper hand over the Beavers in recent years, especially at home, so I can understand why Oregon is favored here, However, I haven’t been high on Oregon as it is and now the Ducks just lost their top scorer for the year in Bol Bol. And while the Beavers have had issues with consistency lately, this looks like Oregon State’s best chance to get one over on the Ducks, so I’ll take a shot with the Beavers in a game that Oregon State could very well win outright.

Oregon State +5.5
