West coast college basketball pits the Pacific Tigers against the Brigham Young Cougars.
The Brigham Young Cougars look to get in the win column after a 103-81 loss at Mississippi State saddled the team with a third straight loss.
Brigham Young trailed by ten after 20 minutes and never got their defense going with Mississippi State owning a 54.3%-43.3% shooting edge with ten more shots.
Yoeli Childs carried the Cougars with 25 points along with a team high six turnovers on 11-18 marksmanship with TJ Hawes adding 14 points, six rebounds and three steals on 4-15 from the floor and 5-5 at the stripe.
Zac Seljaas gave BYU 13 points, five pulls and three steals on 3-5 from the field and 6-6 at the stripe followed Luke Worthington and Jahshire Hardnett with eight points each.
The surging Pacific Tigers have won five of six after downing UC Irvine 84-73 in overtime as a 3.5 point home dog.
Pacific was outshot 44.4%-41.9% but turned 34 Anteaters fouls in to a 33-19 advantage at the charity stripe which was decisive.
Ajare Sanni topped the Tigers offense with 23 points on 8-16 accuracy and 4-5 at the line followed Roberto Gallinat tossed in 20 points with five pulls on 2-8 shooting and 15-18 at the stripe.
Pacific received ten points and seven boards from Jahlil Tripp with Kendall Small tossing in nine points.
