The Line: Pacific Tigers +11.5 -- Over/Under:
On Thursday out at Alex G. Spanos Center, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Pacific Tigers will be matching up on the college basketball court.
Gonzaga enters this one with a 21-4 record overall. The Bulldogs have won their last five straight games, and took out BYU on Saturday. In that game, Gonzaga forward Rui Hachimura put up 15 points.
Tops in scoring for the Bulldogs this year is Johnathan Williams (13.5 PPG; 7.4 RPG), followed by Josh Perkins (13.2 PPG). Also in double-digits for Gonzaga are Killian Tillie (12.2 PPG), Zach Norvell (11.8 PPG), Hachimura (11.1 PPG) and Silas Melson (10.3 PPG).
Over on the Pacific side, they’re sitting at 12-13 this season. The Tigers have won their last two games versus Santa Clara and Pepperdine. In the Pepperdine game, Pacific guard Miles Reynolds put up 22 points.
Pacific’s leading scorers this year are Roberto Gallant (13.0 PPG) and Miles Reynolds (13.0 PPG). Also in double-digits for the Tigers is Jahlil Tripp, with 10.3 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 4.1 APG to his credit.
Gonzaga is 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 Thursday games and 0-6 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss. The Bulldogs are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games and 0-7 ATS in the last seven games overall.
Meanwhile, Pacific is 4-0-1 ATS in the last five Thursday games and 7-0 ATS in the last seven home games. The Tigers are also 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 13-3-2 ATS in their last 18 versus the West Coast.
Aside from a hiccup against Saint Mary’s last month, Gonzaga has been on a nice run lately. That said, the Bulldogs haven’t exactly been tearing up the scoreboard over their last two, failing to reach 70 points in either one. The last meeting between these teams was an 81-48 Gonzaga blowout, so the line would have to be enormous for me not to take the Bulldogs. It’s just big enough, so I’ll take Pacific.
