The Portland Pilots lost their 14th straight game and dropped to 7-21 (0-13 WCC) on the season after being defeated by the San Diego Toreros, 63-52, this past Thursday. Portland played the Toreros tough, however, the Pilots offense struggled down the stretch and allowed San Diego to pull away after the Toreros closed out the final 10:28 of regulation on a 17-6 run. Portland shot just 39.1% from the field and 26.7% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Pilots was Tahirou Diabate who had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal.

Pepperdine was overmatched from the start against the Bulldogs and couldn’t fight back after entering halftime trailing by a 53-33 margin. Pepperdine allowed Gonzaga to shoot 62.7% from the field and was outrebounded by the Bulldogs by a 38-29 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Waves was Darnell Dunn who had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

The Pilots are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games, however, are just 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games overall. The Waves are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games.
Portland is still searching for their first WCC win and come into this match-up ranked just 323rd in scoring offense, 312th in FG%, and 258th in scoring defense.
Pepperdine has lost 5 of their last 6 games and currently rank 98th in scoring offense, 251st in scoring defense, and 303rd in defensive FG%.
It’s been a tough season for the Pilots, however, Portland has shown some signs of life as of late as they in their last two games they took a very good San Francisco team to OT and gave San Diego a battle on the road. Pepperdine is solid at home, however, their defense isn’t the great which should benefit the Pilots offense and as I think Portland will be able to keep this one somewhat competitive, I’m going to take Portland with the double-digits points in this one. Good Luck!
