Pepperdine Waves +1.5 O/U: 144
The San Diego Toreros and the Pepperdine Waves will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
San Diego is currently sitting at 16-8 on the season. The Toreros are 3-1 in their last four games, with a loss to Gonzaga being the only blemish among wins over LMU, San Francisco and LMU again.
In the latest win over the Lions, San Diego’s top scorer was Olin Carter, with 15 points. Isaiah Wright added 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Toreros there, while Yauhen Massalski (12 points; 10 rebounds) and Isaiah Pineiro (11 points; 10 rebounds) doubled up.
Over on the Pepperdine side, they’re 11-13 this season. The Waves had back-to-back wins going versus Saint Mary’s and Portland, but have lost their last two to Pacific and Santa Clara.
In the loss to the Broncos, Pepperdine guard Colbey Ross led the team on 20 points with 10 assists and two boards. Kameron Edwards logged 14 points and eight rebounds for the Waves in that one.
The Toreros are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the West Coast. San Diego is 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the over is 5-2 in their last seven after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Waves are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 versus the West Coast. Pepperdine is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 home games and 19-9 ATS in their last 28 overall.
San Diego can be a pretty dangerous team when they’re firing on all the proverbial cylinders. The Toreros have some good scorers and more often than not they display a stifling defense.
Pepperdine took it 76-71 the last time these teams met up, but I think the Toreros will be better prepared here. I’m going San Diego in what should be a fun game to watch.
