The Niagara Purple Eagles have lost consecutive contests after a 75-63 loss to St. Francis (NY). This was nip and tuck until Niagara was outscored 75-63 in the second half with the Terriers holding a 40%-35.7% shooting edge and nine more shots.
Dominic Robb topped the Purple Eagles with 17 points, four pulls and four blocks on 6-12 from the field and 4-6 at the stripe. Raheem Solomon gave Niagara 12 points and six rebounds on 4-8 shooting with Greg Kuakumensah added ten points and ten rebounds followed by Greg King and Keleaf Tate with seven points each.
The Pitt Panthers improved to 6-1 with a 74-53 rout of city rival Duquesne on Friday. This was back and forth until the second half where Pitt went off on a 42-24 run behind a 43.9%-33.3% shooting edge and eleven more makes at the stripe.
Trey McGowens paced a balance Panthers offense with 14 points on 2-7 shooting and 10-12 at the line while Malik Ellison added 13 points and five pulls on 5-9 accuracy. Pitt received 12 points and five boards from Jared Wilson-Frame followed a combined 19 points and nine assists from Xavier Johnson and Sidy N’Dir.
Niagara are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games and over is 13-6 in Niagara last 19 road games. Pittsburgh are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 Monday games and over is 7-2 in Pitt last 9 Monday games.
