The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Pittsburgh Panthers will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
North Carolina sits at 10-3 on the season. The Tar Heels went 2-2 in the span of a little less than a month, but since have taken out Davidson and Harvard in their last pair of appearances.
In the Crimson game, North Carolina’s Luke Maye was the top scorer on the team with 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Coby White and Cameron Johnson each chipped in 13 points with a combined eight rebounds.
Over on the Pittsburgh side, they’re sitting at 10-3 this year as well. The Panthers have won their last three games versus MD Eastern, New Orleans and Colgate in succession.
In the Raiders game, Pittsburgh’s Trey McGowens was the top scorer on 16 points and five rebounds. Jared Wilson-Frame added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers, and Au’Dise Toney managed 14 points with three boards.
The Tar Heels are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games. North Carolina is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS win. Pittsburgh is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 overall.
North Carolina is one of the more reliable teams in the country these days, but they’ve still got some work to do if they want to compete with the truly elite squads out there.
As for Pittsburgh, they had a couple of rough games but they’re looking better over their last few. Still, I think the Tar Heels hold the keys here.
