The Line: Pittsburgh Panthers +7 -- Over/Under:
Out at Petersen Events Center on Wednesday, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Pittsburgh Panthers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
Wake Forest enters this one with a 10-17 record overall. The Demon Deacons have lost four of their last five games, and dropped to NC State on Saturday. In that game, Wake Forest guard Bryant Crawford put up 29 points.
Crawford is also the leading Wake Forest scorer on the year with 17.0 PPG and 5.0 APG. Also in the double-digits club for the Deacons are Keyshawn Woods (12.7 PPG) and Doral Moore (11.2 PPG; 9.6 RPG).
Over on the Pittsburgh side, they’re currently 8-20 this season. The Panthers have lost their last 15 straight games, most recently to Florida State on Sunday. In that one, Pittsburgh’s Jared Wilson-Frame managed 17 points.
Wilson-Frame also leads the Panthers on the season in scoring with 12.8 PPG. Also in double-figures for Pittsburgh are Ryan Luther (12.7 PPG; 10.1 RPG; 10 games) and Marcus Carr (10.2 PPG).
Wake Forest is 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Deacons are also 3-10 ATS in their last 13 versus the ACC and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is 7-2 ATS in the last nine Wednesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. The Panthers are also 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the ACC and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Wake Forest has been scoring pretty well lately, with at least 70 points in each of their last four. Trouble is, the Deacons are just 1-3 in that span and giving up a lot of points. As for Pittsburgh, they’ve been getting drilled during this losing streak and haven’t really gotten close in too many games. I’ll take the Deacons here.
