The DePaul Blue Demons and the Providence Friars will meet up in college basketball action on Sunday.

DePaul enters this matchup at 11-7 on the year. The Blue Demons are 3-2 over their last five games, with wins over Seton Hall (twice) and St. John’s, along with losses to Butler and Marquette in that span.

In the loss to Marquette, DePaul’s lead scorer was Paul Reed, with 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Doubling up for the Demons was Femi Olujobi, with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Max Strus chipped in 12 points.

Over on the Providence side, they’re 12-7 this season. Across their last three games, the Friars have gone 2-1, with a loss to Marquette sandwiched between wins over Seton Hall and Xavier.

In the win over Xavier, Providence’s Isaiah Jackson led the team with 13 points, two assists and four rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Friars there were Nate Watson and Alpha Diallo, who each put up 11 points and a combined 12 rebounds.

The Blue Demons are 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss. DePaul is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and the over is 12-1 in their last 13 Sunday games.

Meanwhile, the Friars are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus a team with a winning percentage above .600. Providence is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games versus a team with a losing road record and the under is 4-0 in their last four home games.

DePaul has put together some solid efforts in recent games, not the least of which was dispatching a plucky Seton Hall squad twice, along with a really good St. John’s team. The Blue Demons just aren’t ready to take on that next tier of opponents, however.

Providence is coming through a tough part of their schedule, and they should remain a tough opponent for just about every team that comes through. I’m sticking with the Friars at home here.

Providence Friars -6.5
